Tabletop and Board Game Meet-up (homeschool)

MONTHLY MEET-UP

Tabletop Gaming and Board Game

Welcome to Our Tabletop Gaming and Board Game Group!

Our tabletop gaming and board game group offers home educated children and young people a fun, inclusive space to embark on exciting adventures, solve problems together, and build lasting friendships. Through imaginative roleplaying games, collaborative storytelling, and traditional board games, participants are encouraged to think creatively, communicate effectively, and work as a team, all while having plenty of fun.

Whether you're completely new to tabletop games or already have experience rolling dice and creating characters, everyone is welcome. Our sessions are designed to be engaging, supportive, and accessible, with no prior knowledge needed.

Meet Your Facilitators

The group is facilitated by Amy Hoadley and Tracy Doughty, both qualified counsellors and co-founders of LEO Wellbeing Collective. Between them, they bring a wealth of experience supporting children, young people, and families, creating environments where everyone feels welcomed, respected, and included.

Although we are counsellors, this is not a counselling or therapy group. The sessions are centred around playing games, sharing stories, and enjoying time together. Our professional backgrounds simply help us create a space where children feel safe to participate, build confidence, and develop positive relationships naturally through play.

Away from our counselling work, we're both passionate gamers who enjoy everything from classic board games and strategy games to cooperative adventures and modern tabletop experiences. Amy has a particular love for tabletop roleplaying games such as Dungeons & Dragons and other RPG systems, where collaborative storytelling, character development, and imaginative problem-solving create unforgettable adventures. That enthusiasm is at the heart of the group, helping us craft sessions that are exciting, welcoming, and full of opportunities for every child to shine.

Above all, our aim is simple: to provide a place where children can have fun, make friends, use their imagination, and look forward to coming back each session.

Fees & Session Information

Our Tabletop Gaming Group is launching as a pilot programme from September to December. During this initial period, sessions are priced at £10 per young person, per session.

We also offer a 10% discount for each additional young person booking as part of the same family or friendship group, making it easier for siblings and friends to attend together.

As a Community Interest Company (CIC), we're committed to keeping our activities as accessible as possible. The pilot pricing has been set to help us establish the group while we explore future funding opportunities. We will review the programme and available funding in December, with the aim of continuing to provide high-quality sessions at an affordable cost.

Session Length

Sessions in the September to December pilot will run for 2 hours. At the end of the pilot, we'll gather feedback from participants to help shape the future of the group. If there is sufficient interest, we hope to extend sessions to 3 hours from January onwards, giving players more time to develop their stories, complete adventures, and enjoy the experience together.

Age Range

The group is open to young people aged 13 to 18 years.

Young people aged 19 may also be able to attend following an individual review by our Safeguarding Lead. This helps us ensure that the group remains appropriate, safe, and enjoyable for everyone taking part.
